Alberto Conti began his career as a photographer in the 1980s documenting development cooperation projects carried out by the United Nations Agencies FAO, IFAD and Italian NGOs. For over ten years he traveled extensively in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

During this period he also worked as a documentary photographer, dealing with the iconography of the artistic heritage of Florence and Tuscany. From 1993 to 1997 he was responsible for documenting the restoration of Vasari and Zuccari’s frescoes in Brunelleschi’s dome in Florence. In the following years he worked on various assignments for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, including documenting the restoration of the Basilica of S.Lorenzo and S.Maria Novella in Florence, the Fattori Museum in Livorno, Palazzo Chigi in Siena, and with the Uffizi Museum in Florence
He currently collaborates with the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo in Florence.

In parallel, he has pursued an intense activity as a portrait photographer with photographic assignments for major record labels, including Virgin, EMI, Sony, WEA and Universal and for national and international newspapers such as Time, Stern, Vanity Fair, L’Espresso, Panorama, Sette, Sportweek, Amica, Io Donna, El Pais, Sunday Times, Capital, Der Spiegel
